Gospel music from the northern part of Ghana , hasn’t been given much attention. We visited the Upper East Region and we meet this young man by name Philip Markwo and he happens to be one of the powerful ministers from the north.
Markwo Philip is an upcoming star with the stage name Phil-Mak.He Started his musical journey in Koforidua in the Eastern Region. He served as a backing vocalist for a few local ministers. He has been organizing worship events for 5 years now, 3 editions in Navrongo and 1 in Tongo-Sheaga where amazing testimonies were recorded.
In 2020 December God blessed him with his first single title ‘Obeye’ meaning He will do it.
Few years down the line, he moved to Navrongo Fountain Gate Chapel where he served as a praise and worship leader and became the head of the choir. In 2022, work brought him to Bolga and he joined the Bolga branch of the Fountain Gate Chapel Desert Pastures and still serving as a praise and worship leader. In may 2023, he released “You are wonderful” and in December released another song titled “Saviors” He currently have an album coming out soon titled Satisfaction.
