Contemporary Gospel artiste, KobbySalm, has hit hard at critics who have publicly condemned his collaboration with Ghanaian rock band Dark Suburb on the song ‘Shine Again.’
The ‘Jejeli’ hit maker who is on a Radio Tour in Kumasi speaking in an interview on Ultimate Fm with DJ Kastro on what motivated the feature, noted he’s always loved the band from afar and wanted to explore the rock genre in the Ghanaian gospel space.
‘These people have wanted to do Gospel music all their lives. They wanted to get a feature with a Gospel artiste and they were not getting it. I actually have been watching them from afar. Any time I see anything people perceive as ‘devilish,’ I try to reshape people’s mentality with the Gospel attached to it. I love them from afar and the kind of Alternative Music they were doing and I felt Rock is not something we normally don’t do in Ghana Gospel so it will be a good path to venture into. I reached out to them and Shine was so excited and he said they’ve always wanted to record a Gospel song,’ KobbySalm explained.
Born Samuel Kwabena Adjei, was born on May 14th in Accra (Ghana) and studied Communications in the African University College of Communications. As a Christian rap artist, KobbySalm usually loves to explore genres with his rap although his interest mainly is Soul Hip-hop.
